Flower and ornamental plants possess the greatest gift for satisfying the basic human desire for the establishment of our link with nature. After conducting the survey it is observed that there is the dominance of marginal and small farmers in the study area. Flower cultivation is found to be a good source for gainful employment of family labour and a regular source of income to family.

Anju Choudhury, Md. Hasrat Ali and Hira Dhar Chudali - Socio-economic Features of Tribal Economy of Manipur Province of India : Author Portrait BoD - Books on Demand: The present study has been undertaken with Manipur as the focus area of the research work with the objectives to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of tribes in the sample area; the employment pattern and scope of employment of the tribes under agricultural and allied activities with reference to crops cultivated and method of cultivation; to examine the food storage, cooking system and consumption pattern of the tribes under different income situation; and to assess the value orientation of the tribal respondents in the sample area. It is based on secondary information as well as on micro level survey analysis with a view to fulfill the objectives set out. The reference period of the study is the agricultural year 2006-07.

An effort has been made in this study to furnish occupation pattern of the members of the rural households. The study has also aimed at measuring extent of poverty of rural households. An analysis has been carried out to explore whether a change in different topography is made, the level of income and employment of rural household pattern is also changed.
